Product cutting principle


The working principle of the metal fiber laser cutting machine is to use the high power density energy generated by the laser to arrange the focusing lenses in sequence through the optical transmission system to form a high-density energy point at the focus.
The high-energy laser beam is expanded and concentrated on the surface of the workpiece. Under computer control, the CNC device moves to the edge of the workpiece according to the trajectory and speed set by the program for scanning and processing.
During the processing process, parameters such as the beam's traveling direction, offset, and scanning path can be changed at any time to adapt to parts of different shapes. When the material on the working surface is completely removed, it will automatically return to the starting point to continue the next process or wait for the next processing command (i.e. cycle processing). After the work is completed, the machine tool control system issues an instruction to stop the machine and return to the origin.
Equipment advantages
High Cutting Quality: The laser spot is small, energy density is high, and cutting speed is fast, resulting in narrow cut edges. The dimensional accuracy of the cut parts can reach ±0.05mm. The cutting surface is smooth and aesthetically pleasing, with a surface roughness of only a few dozen microns. The width of the heat-affected zone is very small, meaning that the properties of the material near the cut are nearly unaffected, and there is minimal deformation of the workpiece with good geometric shape of the cut seam.
High Cutting Efficiency: The transmission characteristics of lasers mean that laser cutting machines generally come equipped with multiple CNC workstations, allowing the entire cutting process to be fully automated. In operation, only the CNC program needs to be changed to accommodate cutting different shaped parts, enabling both 2D and 3D cutting.
Fast Cutting Speed: For example, using a laser with a power of 1.2kW to cut 2mm thick low-carbon steel plates, the cutting speed can reach 600cm/min; for cutting 5mm thick polypropylene resin plates, the speed can reach 1200cm/min.
Clean, Safe, and Pollution-Free: During laser cutting, the cutting torch does not contact the workpiece, eliminating tool wear. When processing parts of different shapes, there is no need to replace "tools"; only the output parameters of the laser need to be adjusted. The laser cutting process generates low noise, little vibration, and is pollution-free, greatly improving the working conditions for operators.
Flexible processing: Cutting parameters and paths can be adjusted flexibly according to different processing requirements, enabling cutting of various materials and shapes.
High degree of automation: Some sheet metal laser cutting machines are equipped with automatic loading and unloading systems, automatic material change systems, etc., which can achieve automated production, reducing manual intervention, and improving production efficiency and product quality.
